Hey there, it’s Ryan here. If you’re reading this, you’re interested in top anti-aging treatments for men and women in Fort Worth, TX. That includes PDO Threads and Botox. But, what’s the difference between these popular treatments?

Many of you asked, so here’s the skinny, the low down, the 411 on Botox® and PDO threads. I’m going to explain what each treatment entails, describe their unique differences and even answer the popular questions: who should get Botox and PDO Threads AND which one is better? Read on... and keep scrolling for Before & After pics!

What are PDO threads?

A PDO thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure where temporary sutures are placed under the skin for an instant lift. PDO threads are newer treatments in the world of aesthetics, but they’re quickly gaining traction for their great, facelift-like results.

There are many benefits of getting a PDO thread lift. Why? PDO threads:

✨ Contract fat tissue which instantly tightens skin

✨ Promote collagen production (something Botox does not!)

✨ Diminish fine lines, wrinkles and create a softer skin texture

✨ Offer facelift results via a minimally invasive treatment

Who is a good candidate for a PDO thread lift?

Have you ever pulled your skin back and said "I just want to look like this..”? Then PDO threads may be right for you.

PDO threads are a great alternative for those who want a facelift, without the scalpel. Those who have sagging skin, angry eyebrows and loose jowls can benefit greatly from a PDO thread lift. Basically, it’s optimal for more mature clients who are interested in instant and more intense results.

Another reason people choose PDO threats is that they offer longer lasting results. They also produce collagen in the skin, helping rejuvenate skin’s appearance from the inside out (something that Botox does not do!) 💃

What you need to know about PDO threads

There are three important things to consider when learning about PDO threads

First, PDO threads are a newer treatment, so you must find a medical professional who has ample experience doing this type of lift. (Like me!)

Second, the treatment takes longer than Botox. It takes about 15-30 minutes just to numb the treatment area to completion. So if you need a quick appointment, Botox could be faster.

Third, a PDO thread’s longevity is determined by the thickness and quality of the threads. It also depends on how quickly your body metabolizes the threads. Most patients' PDO threads will last around 6-9 months. That’s almost twice the result time as Botox! ⬅️

What is Botox?

Most of us already know what Botox is, but if you are new to the phenomenon, they work as a muscle relaxer. Botox is a neurotoxin that weakens or relaxes muscles by blocking nerves with a compound called ‘botulinum toxin protein’.

While PDO threads are great, Botox is proven and loved by millions for its many benefits. For example, Botox:

✨ Prevents the development of future fine lines and wrinkles

✨ Can treat migraines when administered strategically by a professional injector

✨ Fights acne by preventing breakouts and potential scarring

✨ Has alternative uses to treat TMJ (lockjaw) and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)

✨ Is relatively painless, especially when the area is numbed

✨ Is a little less invasive than PDO Threads

Who is a good candidate for Botox?

If you wish to smooth fine lines on the forehead or treat crow’s feet, then Botox is a great choice for you. One of the biggest benefits of Botox is that it not only smooths fine lines and wrinkles, but it PREVENTS them from forming over time. Many younger patients opt for Botox as a preventative measure in their 20’s and 30’s.

Essentially, just about anyone is a good candidate for Botox treatments.

What’s better for me, PDO threads or Botox?

Honestly, it’s up to you! Many of my clients love PDO Threads AND Botox, it just depends on your unique beauty goals and preferences.

If you had to pick a winner, Botox is a phenomenal choice for those looking to treat fine lines and prevent future wrinkles. PDO Threads may be a better choice if you have deeper wrinkles and are searching for more intense results.

Both Botox and PDO threads will improve skin tightness and reverse the signs of aging. Plus, each of these treatments are FDA-approved, safe, effective, and can be performed in quick in-office visits. Win-wins all around!
